LIMA, PERU — In commemoration of the 205th anniversary of the Peruvian Navy and the 147th anniversary of the Battle of Angamos, the naval institution announced free admission and guided tours across its primary naval museums in Lima, Callao, and Piura. The initiative runs throughout October, ending on Saturday, October 31, and is open to families, student groups, and the general public.

This initiative aims to highlight the nation’s maritime heritage and connect visitors with the legacy of Peru’s naval heroes and maritime traditions.

Historical Heritage and Exhibition Halls

The museums feature historical artifacts, original documents, and heritage items spanning multiple eras of Peruvian history:

  • Naval Museum of Peru (Callao): Houses a vast historical collection across more than 10 thematic exhibition halls, covering pre-Hispanic and colonial navigation through to the War of the Pacific and modern naval history.
  • Sites in Lima and Piura: Dedicated spaces showcasing personal artifacts, documents, and historical context surrounding key figures such as Admiral Miguel Grau Seminario.
  • Guided Experience: Tours are led by specialized naval guides to enhance the educational and interpretative experience for all attendees.
