Experiencing the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu on the same trip is an excellent way to connect with the history, landscapes, and traditions of the Andean world. On our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 2D/1N Tour, you’ll enjoy archaeological sites, historic towns, beautiful landscapes, and, of course, the incredible citadel of Machu Picchu.

The first day will take us through some of the most representative places in the Sacred Valley. We’ll visit Pisac, where we’ll explore its archaeological site and traditional town, and then continue to Ollantaytambo, an impressive archaeological site that still preserves much of its Inca essence. Afterwards, we’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, where we’ll spend the night and rest for the adventure waiting for us the next day.

The second day will be the time to discover Machu Picchu. Accompanied by our guide, we’ll explore the citadel and discover its main areas while learning more about its history and the legacy of the Incas.

After the visit, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes, where we’ll have some free time to walk around, have lunch, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the town before beginning our journey back to Cusco.

This journey combines some of the most representative places in the Sacred Valley with a visit to Machu Picchu. It is an ideal option for those who want to experience more than just the Inca citadel and take the opportunity to discover traditional towns, beautiful landscapes, and important archaeological sites.

The experience begins in Cusco and takes us through Pisac and Ollantaytambo before continuing by train to Aguas Calientes. The following day, we’ll visit Machu Picchu with our guide and finally begin our return journey to Cusco.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Sacred Valley – Pisac – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

We’ll begin with pickup from your hotel in Cusco and head to Pisac, where we’ll visit its archaeological site and artisan town. Then, we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo to enjoy a buffet lunch and explore the town. In the afternoon, we’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, where we’ll spend the night. Our guide will visit your hotel to provide instructions and details about the following day’s tour.

Day 2: Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco

After breakfast, we’ll take the bus to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the citadel and its main sites. After the visit, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time to explore the town and have lunch on your own. Finally, we’ll board the train to Ollantaytambo and continue by tourist transportation to Cusco.

08:00 – 11:30 Travel to the town of Pisac to visit the archaeological center and the artisan town.

We said goodbye to the group and the guide to be able to arrive at the train station 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

DAY 02: MACHU PICCHU – RETURN TO CUSCO

At the end of the tour we return to Aguas Calientes along the same path, we will have time to walk through the town, have lunch on our own and then return to the train station.

What is the type of lunch and the weather along machu picchu sacred valley?

The climate in the sacred valley is much more pleasant due to its location, it is almost always a warm climate due to the concentration of temperature. On a regular basis, the guided tour lasts an average of 2 hours, however we are one of the few companies that are strategic allies of the Ministry of Culture, so we are allowed to extend the visit time by 30 minutes or even 1 hour according to the number of participants.
