LIMA, PERU — China’s most successful travel reality show, Divas Hit the Road, selected Peru as the featured destination to film four episodes of its eighth season. Over a nine-day journey, the production brought together prominent Chinese film, television, and music celebrities to explore the iconic attractions of Lima, Cusco, and Iquitos, highlighting the country’s cultural and geographic diversity to an estimated audience of over 100 million viewers per episode.

Filming operations were supported by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPerú) through its Film In Peru office, which facilitated filming permits, artistic production visas, location sourcing, and inter-institutional coordination.

Broadcast via the streaming platform Mango TV and the terrestrial network Hunan TV, the show centers on cultural immersion and educational travel experiences:

  • Celebrity Cast: The season features actresses Sun Yi, Ariel Lin, Wang Ke, Sandra Ng, Zhou Dongyu, and Ouyang Nana, alongside actors Wang Xingyue and Deng Wei.
  • Multi-Destination Itinerary: Shoots spanned the historic architecture of Lima, the monumental Andean landscapes of Cusco, and the rich Amazonian biodiversity in Iquitos.
  • Official Statements: Teresa Mera, Executive President of PromPerú, emphasized that featuring in this international production provides an exceptional showcase to position Peru within the Chinese travel market. General Director Li Chao noted Peru’s historic depth and geographic variety provided an extraordinarily rich narrative backdrop for the cast.
