LIMA, PERU — This September 10th, the documentary Ceviche hits movie theaters, bringing to the big screen the secrets, landscapes, and human stories surrounding one of the world’s most famous culinary expressions.
Co-produced by Peruvian and Brazilian companies, the 75-minute film is directed by filmmaker Fernando Landavere and stars renowned chef Rodrigo Fernandini, a key figure in Latin American cuisine based in the United States.
From the Andes to the Heart of Manhattan
The film presents a visual journey connecting the origins of the dish with its global impact. Featuring scenes shot among the coastal landscapes of Chiclayo, the rich culture of Cusco, the urban scene of Lima, and the metropolis of New York, the project explores up to 17 regional variations and interpretations of ceviche.

The visual narrative is enhanced by performances from iconic figures in the Peruvian music scene, including Mar de Copas, Killary Catácora, and Jorge Miranda.
